Post 5: My future job
Hi!
I am a student of Chemistry and Pharmacy and I would like to have a job that is not office and is indoors. When choosing a career, I looked at one that didn't have "as much contact with the public," so to speak. I like to work and do quiet things, with a team or alone, but "serving the public" is something very complex.
In general, I like to travel a lot, so for what I want to do, it would be convenient. Well, I could attend congresses or places where my specialty is more developed.
As I said before, I study chemistry and pharmacy. The specialty that I would like to study would be in pharmaceutical technology, especially in the research and manufacture of products / medicines for animals, that is, in the veterinary area.
Why? Because I find that our pets and animals in general are unprotected in this area and that there is misinformation in the population. Researching and dedicating myself to this could contribute to a change.
A curious fact and the reason why I want to dedicate myself to this, are my two little hamsters: Ágata and Victoria. Especially Agata, she sadly died from medical negligence.
She once she got sick and was prescribed medication, because she was so small, the doses were small. There was no special medicine for small rodents, they had to adapt hers for dogs and cats to her. After that, I talked to the vet and did some research, I realized that this field was completely abandoned: there were no vaccines for hamsters. That was one of the reasons why they couldn't be left outside, they didn't have protection like cats and dogs do.There must be reasons not to exist, but I believe a lot in science and its advances, so I would like to be a part of it.
Very interesting. and groundbreaking reflection.
