Post 7: Changes to my study programme
Hi!
This is the last post, it's amazing how time has passed.
Today I will talk about a super important topic, since it is completely related to the race, how I see it and what I would like to change.
To be honest, it is something that I always think about and compare with other universities. Also, it was one of the reasons why I chose this university and not another.
I find that the subjects are well designed, they prepare you gradually, such as: chemical laboratory techniques in the first semester, which serves as the basis for the following laboratory classes in terms of different processes, equipment, behavior and everything important in a laboratory. Other universities do not have such a subject, they do not have that leveling, which in my opinion is very important, because if you did not have a laboratory at your school, you learn from cero.
As for the duration, it also seems appropriate to me, since it is compensated by the number of subjects. A pharmaceutical chemist from the University of Chile, leaves the university with knowledge in different areas, which gives you greater job opportunities.
In terms of facilities, more green areas should be installed at the entrance, since everything is dry, that is depressing. As for laboratories, it seems fine to me, although increasing the budget for reagents and other important things to learn. The use of technology seems appropriate to me, there are computers and tablets available for students.
I like teaching, the teachers are very good, it shows that they like what they do.
